We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistants to join our team in providing personalized care and support to individuals who require assistance with activities of daily living. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping our clients maintain their independence and quality of life in the comfort of their own homes or residential care facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, oral care, and dressing.
- Provide assistance with toileting, including transferring to and from the toilet, and changing of incontinence products.
- Support clients with mobility needs, including transferring from bed to wheelchair or vice versa, and assisting with ambulation.
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration, ensuring that dietary preferences and restrictions are respected.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as tidying up living spaces, doing laundry, and cleaning dishes.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, engaging in conversation, activities, and recreational outings.
- Assist clients with medication reminders, under the supervision of a licensed healthcare professional.
- Observe and report any changes in client condition or behavior to the appropriate healthcare professionals or family members.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.
- Collaborate with other members of the care team, including family members, healthcare professionals, and other caregivers, to ensure coordinated and holistic care.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in personal care or a related field preferred but not required.
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards clients, with a commitment to preserving their dignity and autonomy.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow care plans and instructions accurately.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to clients’ homes or residential facilities.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and client needs.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred but not required (training provided).
